Apologies for my silence last week but the launch of the upcoming 'Passage To India' class created so much interest that my weekly newsletter had to take a backseat while I dealt with bookings and enquiries.
You'll be glad to hear that it's back to business as usual this week and I'm kicking off with the ultimate cheat's recipe.
First....a little history.
I clearly remember watching in horror as a newly married, close friend of mine cooked her first Shabbat dinner for her new husband and in-laws. She began by hauling a frozen joint of meat out of the freezer...she then threw the entire contents of her spice drawer at it in the misguided belief that at least some of the flavoring would stick to the icicles...then with no further ado she shoved the frozen hunk into the oven for 8 hours and hoped for the best.
18 years later she's still married so her long-suffering husband either got used to eating her food or she picked up a few lessons along the way. With a bit of luck she learned that there ARE times that you can take short-cuts without compromising on the end result and this Nutella Chocolate Mousse is the perfect example.of this.
SHORTCUT TO GREAT STYLE NUTELLA CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
1 extra large jar Nutella*
500 ml cream
Beat the cream till thick then fold in Nutella completely. Freeze until 20 minutes before needed then remove from fridge and serve. Including a note with the phone number of the nearest Weight Watchers branch with each serving would be a most considerate little touch.
* I'm talking of the super-size 800 gram Nutella here but you could halve the quantities of chocolate spread and cream if necessary.
