MAKE FRESHLY BAKED BREAD A PANTRY STAPLE
Supersal takes this week's Red Hot Shopping Award for their fabulous, partially baked French bread which can be stored in a kitchen cupboard for up to 2 months.
I could waste time elaborating on the many benefits of having freshly baked bread in a matter of minutes but I believe the advantages to this revolutionary product are clear.
In addition to the obvious convenience factor, I also like the fact that these loaves are smal,l so there is less chance of wastage.
Everyone knows that a day-old French bread can be used only as a substitute baseball bat so this half-size loaf is a far better bet.
So when next your family is hungry and you can't be bothered to go shopping...let them eat BREAD!

'OUR MAN' IN SHUK BEZALEL IN TEL AVIV
My cousin Lily is the only person I know who is as passionate about downtown Tel Aviv as I am.
45 years after making aliyah from Peru, she STILL refers to a trip to the city by saying she's 'going to see her therapist', and over time she and I have developed our own special language as we discuss our respective city finds.
She's the only person I know who will understand precisely what I mean when I say I bought my flowers from 'the first guy on the left after the man with the socks' or.will immediately know where to go for reliable quality Israeli music CD's when instructed to 'head to the stand behind the rude woman with the bread''.
In the same vein, I'll know exactly where to go if she tells me 'the big towel shop' is having a sale on dish cloths, and I'll nod understandingly when she tells me that 'that shoe shop she always goes to'' had just one pair of black boots in her size.
No conversation about our respective Tel Aviv shopping experiences would be complete without asking what 'our man' has in stock that particular day as both of us agree that no visit to Tel Aviv is complete without stopping in at 'Our Man' along the way.
There's no name outside so you too will have to refer to this treasure trove of a store as 'Our Man'....though the owner Zohar may prefer you to address him by his name.
But let's not waste precious shopping time playing naming games and instead let me explain precisely why we make a bee-line for Zohar's market store.
This little shop may measure just a few square metres but what it lacks in space it makes up for in bargains.
Zohar sources over-runs and leftover sale stock from many of the major home decor chains such as Golf and Kedem and then sells them off at a fraction of the price you'd pay elsewhere.
Think wrought iron stands at NIS 40 when the same item is sold at NIS 160 in the local Canyon....genuine leather photo frames at an incredible NIS 20....solid wood jewelry boxes at NIS 60...baby toys from NIS 15....bathroom rugs at NIS 20...pewter cake plates....stylish storage containers....designer vases...and much more.
Stock changes virtually daily and, at these prices, sells out just as quickly as it comes in.
You'll find 'Our Man' at Number 4 Tchernihowski at the far end of Shuk Bezalel - walk down Allenby Street in the direction of the beach with the Carmel market behind you and turn right into Tchernihowski just after Bank Leumi - and you'll recognise Zohar by his ever-ready smile.
I'm only too happy to make 'Our Man' your man too...happy shuking!
