AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS CONNIVING POLITICIANS AT BAY APPLE CRUMBLE
6 large Granny Smith green apples, peeled and cubed
1/4 cup soft yellow raisins/cranberries
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 cup self-raising flour
1/3 cup soft brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
100 grams butter
1: Place cubed apples and raisins into a medium sized buttered pie dish, pour over water, sprinkle over sugar and drizzle over honey.
2: Mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and walnuts together and rub in butter till crumbly.
3: Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples and bake at 180 C for 40 minutes till brown then allow to cool slightly before serving.
